Dear Dharma Brothers and Sisters,
Before writing about the publication project, I wish to sincerely thank all those people who have supported the publication project of Karma Lekshey Ling over the last years. I truly hope to accomplish my aim within a few years, which is only possible through your kind and generous help. Please click here if you would like to see which texts have been published so far and which texts still need to be published.
Let me now speak a little bit about our publications:
With the help of a few monks, I started working on the Karma Lekshey Ling publications in 2004. My aim was and is to publish the texts of all subjects that are taught in our Institute's curriculum. I am almost finished and only a few texts are left to do, but they will be very thick books, consisting of more than 1000 pages. After having completed this project, I hope to work on the Karma Kagyu Lineage texts that haven’t been published for many years. I plan to make them available as free downloads through www.dharmadownload.net. My wish is that these precious texts will help and benefit the many students and scholars worldwide who are really interested in them.
First, I think it will be important to publish in 2009 the root text “Prajnaparamita (sher phyin mngon rtogs rgyan)” that was composed by Maitreya Buddha and the commentary “rje btsun ngal gso” that was written by H.H. the 8th Karmapa Mikyo Dorje. There are two volumes, and vol. I will be around 590 pages and vol. II about 520 pages. A set with both volumes will cost approximately 9.00 U$. 600 sets will cost approx. 5400.00 U$.
Secondly, after having completed this, it will be necessary to publish the root text “Madhyamaka (dbu ma 'jug pa)” that was composed by Acharya Chandrakirti and the commentary “dags rgyud grub pa'i shing rta” that was written by H.H. the 8th Karmapa Mikyo Dorje. This, too, will consist of two volumes. Volume I will be around 350 pages and vol. II about 420 pages. A set with both volumes will cost an estimated 7.00 U$. 600 sets will cost approx. U$ 4200.00.
Finally, after having done this, it will be necessary to publish the root text “Abhidharmakosha (chos mngon pa mdzod)” that was composed by Acharya Vasubhandu and its commentary, entitled “grub bde'i dpyid 'jo,” that was written by H.H. the 8th Karmapa Mikyo Dorje. This will consist of four volumes. Volume I will be around 250 pages, vol. II around 274 pages; vol. III will be around 410 pages, and vol. IV about 370 pages. A set including all four volumes will cost an estimated 11.00 U$. 600 sets with all volumes will cost approx. 6600.00 U$.
It is possible for me to accommodate to your individual wishes and offer each volume separately or fewer sets. The calculations above refer to the entire set or to 600 sets that include all volumes.
